Resilient Futures Coach
Helping young adults build confidence & resilience

Hello
I’m Jon, founder of Resilient Futures Coach.
With over a decade in education and wellbeing, I help teenagers build the confidence, resilience, and life skills they need to thrive. Having once felt unsure of my own path, I understand how important it is for young people to feel supported, understood, and equipped to face life’s challenges.

My Story
I’ve spent over ten years working in education and wellbeing, studying Sport, Health & Wellbeing and completing research on life skills development in young people. My career has always centred on one question: how can we better equip teenagers to thrive — emotionally, socially, and academically?
My passion for supporting teens comes from both personal experience and professional insight. As a teenager, I often felt uncertain about my direction, but I was fortunate to have guidance and encouragement to step out of my comfort zone. Now, as a coach and educator, I see that many young people don’t always get these opportunities, especially with the pressures of social media and comparison. This inspired me to create Resilient Futures Coach — a space where teens can gain proactive support and practical tools to grow.
🌟 From Education to Empowerment
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across schools, colleges, and universities — leading wellbeing initiatives, supporting student development, and helping young people navigate transitions. Highlights include:
-
Developing a college-wide Active Wellbeing curriculum at Bridgend College
-
Delivering workshops at Cardiff Metropolitan University to build confidence, aspirations, and purpose
These experiences showed me that teenagers thrive when they receive consistent guidance to build resilience, manage emotions, and develop life skills before challenges escalate.
💬 My Coaching Style
I take a warm, person-led, empowering, and proactive approach. Each young person I work with is seen as an individual with unique strengths, challenges, and goals. I draw on my experience as a qualified post-16 teacher, Mental Health First Aider, and Certified Young Person’s Life Coach.
Key focus areas in my coaching include:
-
Understanding and managing emotions
-
Building confidence and self-awareness
-
Developing healthy habits and routines
-
Personal values & identity
-
Setting goals and taking meaningful action
❤️ Why This Work Matters
I know what it’s like to battle self-doubt and an “inner critic.” When I was 16, my dad gave me The Chimp Paradox, which helped me understand and manage my thoughts. That experience inspired my work today. Seeing a teen go from uncertainty to confidence and motivation is the most rewarding part of my role.
As one parent shared:
“Since doing the coaching sessions, Daisy is thinking through things more. She’s more confident in setting goals and working towards them.”

🧭 Outside of Coaching
When I’m not coaching, I spend time with my wife, daughter (born January 2025), and our dog Bruno. I’m a keen runner, currently training for the Newport Half Marathon 2026, and I love trips to the beach with family.
Living a balanced, healthy life is something I value deeply — and it’s a message I pass on to the teens I work with.
